Anna Friend in The Sweetheart Sisters

I have just returned from filming in the Lake District in a new film The Sweetheart Sisters, directed by Phil Stagg.

This was as a direct result of the Manchester Showcase in June of this year, when Phil Stagg and members of the production team attended the showcase and we had the opportunity to talk to him afterwards.

So thank you Pinewood Net.

Looking forward to the showcases in January.

Regards,

Anna Friend

Barbara Lanik in A Christmas Carol

Dear Friends,

The job I am doing in London!

It's a production of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens at The Lion & Unicorn Theatre and I play the Ghost of Christmas Future, Tiny Tim and other bits and pieces.

Our version, set in Jerusalem, is quite different and could be called controversial but still staying true to Dickens' words and story of course, so you don't want to miss it! We are currently busy rehearsing and it's going very well. We open on the 9th of December and run until the 4th of January 2009.

It would be amazing if you could come and I would really appreciate your support!
Bring your friends and family! The show is also suitable for children.

Lots of love, Barbara

Casting Director Simone Reynolds TV Workshop

Written: 11 September 2008

7 September 2008 saw Casting Director Simone Reynolds giving the first of the Pinewood Net workshops promised in our July showcase news article.

Held at Battersea Arts Centre, Simone's television workshop was oversubscribed. We had to rebook her! Now we have a reserve list of paid up actors keen to benefit from her insight and expertise at her second fully booked event being held on 28 September 2008. Should anyone give up their place for a clashing work commitment or some misfortune, one of them will be able to take advantage of the space made and enjoy all the benefits of the workshop.

One actor present, Stephen Willis, felt that the help he had been given by Simone played a key part in his success in being cast in the role that he went for in a feature film, the audition for which was directly after the workshop.

Other actors that participated on the day were enthusiastic about the information and the experience saying that they felt that it was 'invaluable' and that they 'can't wait for the next Pinewood Net workshop'. We were joined by some New Players and original friends of ours that took part in the Actors Studio course where nearly half of the Founding Members met. The Shot To Be Seen course is one I think that we would all recommend.

Short Film - "Behind Closed Doors"

Written: 14 July 2008

Hello guys and gals!

Just an update..

Vivid Imagination Pictures in association with Pinewood Net are in preproduction with their current film; Behind Closed Doors (working Title).

The film is based around a family who take their son into a drug rehab after finding him lying death-bound from an overdose of heroin. The film explores methods of reform including medical drugs and electric-shock treatment. Plus gives an insight into why this particular family appear to be falling apart at the seams.

So far, all is going well. We are just looking for our last few cast members and crew. If you want to be part of the gang or have any questions then feel free to contact myself or Katy.

Best Wishes,

Stephen Willis
